Europe

Europe

Europe is home to some of the world's greatest cities, with iconic sights and attractions drawing millions of visitors annually. Whether you're looking for a romantic weekend away or an action-packed holiday with your friends, there's something for everyone in Europe.

Italy

Italy is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. There's plenty to see and do from its famous cities to its scenic countryside. So whether you're planning your next vacation or just daydreaming about what it might be like to travel to Italy, it helps to know which attractions are worth seeing before beginning your journey.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a famous tourist attraction in Italy. The tower was constructed in 1173 and has been leaning ever since. It is located in the old city center of Pisa and measures 55 meters and 294 steps.

The reason why this tower is leaning is that it was built on unstable ground. There are many interesting things to do at The Leaning Tower of Pisa, including

·      Photography

·      Taking the 294 steps

·      Going inside and seeing the bells ring (only when they're not too busy)

·      Going down into the dungeons below ground level

·      Eating at one of the restaurants with a view of the Leaning Tower itself.

The Colosseum in Rome

The Colosseum in Rome is one of the most iconic structures in the world and one of the best places to visit in Italy. It is oval and has an amphitheatre design.

The theatre is one of Rome's most popular tourist attractions because it is so well preserved and contains many other fascinating things that make it worth visiting. There are underground tunnels where enslaved people would be kept before they were let out onto the arena floor and an underground lake where animals were kept before being brought out for fighting purposes.

Also, The Colosseum was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles such as mock sea battles, animal hunts, and re-enactments of famous battles.

Catacombs

The Catacombs of Rome, also known as the Catacombs of Saint Sebastian, are underground cemeteries holding thousands of people's remains.

These cemeteries can be visited anytime during the day, but it is best to avoid visiting them when crowded. There are guided tours available if you would like someone else to show you around and explain what everything means.

The Catacombs retain their macabre charm despite having been long abandoned by their original owners, having a long history as a popular tourist attraction, and being a source of artsy inspiration. It is estimated that there are around six million people buried there.

One interesting thing you can do once inside these catacombs is to visit some of the graves, learn and take pictures.

Lake Como

Lake Como, also called Lario, is a beautiful and luxurious place to visit in Italy. It is known for its breathtaking views, beautiful homes, and amazing food.

It is located in northern Italy and surrounded by mountains, making it a great getaway for anyone looking for a relaxing vacation. When visiting Lake Como, there are many things to do, such as hiking, shopping, eating and drinking local delicacies and wine tasting.
