Day 1

Arrival into Sri Lanka

Upon your arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by your guide with frangipani garlands and refreshing wet tissues. They will assist you to your designated vehicle.


Transfer to Colombo, the largest city and former administrative capital of Sri Lanka. Colombo offers a vibrant blend of modern life and remnants of its colonial past. As an ancient trading hub situated along the East-West sea trade routes, Colombo has a rich history dating back 2,000 years. It became the capital when Sri Lanka was ceded to the British Empire in 1815. The city is home to corporate offices, restaurants, entertainment venues, and a variety of attractions.


Embark on a panoramic city tour of Colombo, visiting historical, religious, and commercial sites. Explore the bustling Fort and Pettah areas, experience the elegance of Cinnamon Gardens residential district, stroll along the iconic Galle Face Green, and admire the beauty of Viharamahadevi Park, among other highlights.


After the city tour, continue your journey to Hikkaduwa or Galle. Upon arrival, proceed with check-in at the hotel.

Day 2

HIKKADUWA OR GALLE/ YALA

Hikkaduwa to Yala - 170km, 4h approx.


Start the day with breakfast at the hotel, then visit the historic city of Galle. The UNESCO-listed Dutch Fort, built in the 17th century, offers a fascinating glimpse into the past. Stroll along the ramparts for panoramic views of the ancient harbour and pass by notable landmarks like the District Court and Dutch Reformed Church.


Next, proceed to Yala for a thrilling luxury jeep safari. Yala National Park, spanning 1,260 square kilometres, is renowned for its striking dry-zone landscape and diverse wildlife.


Spot colourful painted storks, elephants, leopards, sloth bears, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species.


Please note that Yala National Park may be closed during September and October, in which case an alternative safari at Lunugamwehera National Park will be arranged.


Finally, arrive at the hotel in Yala, complete the check-in process, and enjoy dinner. Rest and rejuvenate for the night at the hotel.

Day 3

YALA/ NUWARA ELIYA

Yala to Nuwara Eliya - 170km, 4h approx.


Start the day with breakfast at the hotel, then depart towards Nuwara Eliya. En route, visit Maligawila to witness the impressive Maligawila Buddha statue. Carved during the 7th century by Prince Aggabodhi, this standing figure is the tallest free-standing ancient Buddha statue in Sri Lanka, crafted from a large limestone rock.


Continue the journey to Nuwara Eliya, often referred to as "the city of dawn." Located at the highest elevation in Sri Lanka, it offers breathtaking views, including the prominent peak of Piduruthalagala. Known as "Little England," Nuwara Eliya was established by the British in the 19th century and is cherished as a popular holiday resort. Its cool climate, colonial charm, and picturesque bungalows surrounded by hedgerows attract both locals and tourists.


Don't miss the opportunity to visit a tea plantation and factory along the way, where you can learn about the art of brewing the famous "Ceylon Tea."


Upon arrival in Nuwara Eliya, check-in at the hotel.

Day 4

NUWARA ELIYA/ KANDY

Optional Morning Visit:

Embark on a half-day trekking adventure to Horton Plains. This protected area, located in the central highlands of Sri Lanka, is characterized by its picturesque montage grassland and cloud forest. The plateau, situated at an altitude of 2,100–2,300 meters (6,900–7,500 feet), boasts rich biodiversity, with many species endemic to the region. Designated as a national park in 1988, Horton Plains is a popular tourist destination, located 32 kilometers (20 miles) from Nuwara Eliya. (Supplement: USD 50.00 per person)


Depart for Kandy. Along the way, visit a tea plantation and a tea factory, where you can immerse yourself in the world of Ceylon tea production.


Upon arrival in Kandy, check in to the hotel and take some time to unwind.

Day 5

KANDY/ PERADENIYA/ KANDY

Visit the Peradeniya Botanical Garden, located near Kandy in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. This renowned garden showcases a diverse collection of over 300 orchid varieties, spices, medicinal plants, and palm trees. The botanical garden spans 147 acres (0.59 km2) and sits at an elevation of 460 meters above sea level, receiving an annual rainfall of 200 days. Don't miss the opportunity to explore the attached National Herbarium.


Afterward, proceed with a captivating Kandy City tour. As a UNESCO World Heritage site, Kandy holds great historical significance. Nestled at an elevation of about 480 meters above sea level, it is often referred to as "Kanda Uda Rata" or the hill country. Kandy was the last independent kingdom of Sri Lanka, resiliently withstanding colonial invasions for two centuries before eventually succumbing to the British in the early 19th century. During the city tour, visit the revered Temple of the Tooth, explore the Peradeniya University campus, and enjoy a panoramic view of the picturesque town from Upper Lake Drive.


In the early evening, experience a mesmerizing Kandyan Dance performance, followed by a spectacular fire walking finale, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region.

Day 6

KANDY/ HABARANA

Kandy to Habarana - 99km, 2h 30mins approx.


Start the day with a delightful breakfast at the hotel, then embark on a journey towards Habarana. Along the way, make a stop at a spice garden in Matale. Here, you'll have the opportunity to witness the famous spices for which Sri Lanka is renowned. Learn about the different spices, their cultivation, and the processing techniques involved.


Upon arrival in Habarana, check in to the hotel and settle in.


As an optional activity, we propose a safari in Minneriya National Park or Eco Park. This captivating wildlife experience comes with a supplement of USD 45.00 per person.


Conclude the day with a scrumptious dinner and enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.


Day 7

HABARANA/ SIGIRIYA/ POLONNARUWA/ PASIKUDAH

Habarana to Sigiriya - 15km, 10 mins approx.

Sigiriya to Polonnaruwa - 56km, 1h30mins approx.

Polonnaruwa to Pasikudah - 70km, 1h30mins approx.

First, explore the iconic Sigiriya Rock fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage site built by King Kashyapa in the 5th century. Rising majestically out of the dry zone plains, Sigiriya is a breath-taking archaeological site. Marvel at the sheer grandeur of the citadel as you climb to the top. Admire the renowned frescoes of the 'Heavenly Maidens,' nestled in a sheltered pocket of the rock accessible via a spiral stairway. Explore the moat, ramparts, and extensive gardens, including the famous water gardens that surround the base of the rock.


Next, transfer to Polonnaruwa, an archaeological city that was once the capital of Sri Lanka. This UNESCO World Heritage site showcases the magnificent ruins of a bygone era. Experience the golden age of Polonnaruwa, which flourished in the 12th century and played a vital role in shaping Sri Lankan civilization. Wander through the well-preserved remains, marvelling at the island's finest monuments. Don't miss the Gal Vihara, a collection of awe-inspiring Buddha statues carved into the sheer rock, showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship of that era.


Continue your journey to Pasikudah, known for its pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters.

Day 8 & 9

PASIKUDAH

Day 10

PASIKUDAH/ DAMBULLA/NEGOMBO

Start your day with a delightful breakfast at the hotel before embarking on your journey to Negombo.


Enroute, visit the magnificent Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Constructed in the 1st century B.C., this temple is a remarkable testament to Sri Lanka's rich history. Explore the five caves adorned with over 2000 square meters of intricate paintings on the walls and ceilings. Marvel at the colossal figure of the Buddha, carved out of granite rock and spanning an impressive 14 meters.


Upon arrival in Negombo, check in to your hotel and settle in for a comfortable stay. Indulge in a delicious dinner and enjoy a restful overnight experience.

Day 11

NEGOMBO/ AIRPORT

Enjoy a satisfying breakfast at the hotel in Negombo before beginning your journey back to the airport, which is just a short 10-minute drive away. Please note that check-out time is at 12:00 PM, and arrangements will be made for your transfer to ensure you catch your departure flight on time. Bid farewell to the beautiful island of Sri Lanka as you head home with cherished memories of your trip.
